"To Bike"

To bike or not I now confront –
I biked, it hurt my knee;
My balance is not what it was,
So end-point I can see.

I don’t see bikes at nursing homes,
Some cars I must admit;
But often they don’t drive at night,
So taxi’s better fit.

I know a guy who pushed too far,
Fell off and cracked his head;
For me disaster that would be,
To coast until I’m dead.

I’ve so much work to finish up –
Get books and poems out;
So many don’t know Kingdom-layer,
Succumbing to their doubts.

I think I’d better knock it off,
Move on to other things;
Accept the limits I now have
And see what future brings –

While I can still respond to life,
Not “see and wish folks well”;
For prematurely sidelined would
For me be living hell.

Thanks Lord for this.
