"Transition Time" [Module#460]  (John 20:24-25)

At birth they say three things take place –
Placenta’s sphincters close in case
A hemorrhage destroys the mom,
Once child has passed beneath the sun.

The blood to lungs must start to flow;
First breath that starts, and breathing, so
An independent life survives
Here in a world of many lives.

A kick-start pat upon the bum
Gets breathing started – air must come;
So cry is indicator there –
First intake, outburst breath of air.

So too with Peter in this scene,
As Jesus presses what he means –
Is life for you still more than this?
Or have you quit, gone back to fish?

Do you like me, my erstwhile friend?
You said to others – “No” – but then
I realize quite scared you were;
So now I ask – are you still there?

Do you in life now really care
For me? My welfare? I prepared
You to go out, care for My work –
Do you now view me as a jerk?

So feed the My feeders, Pete, my man;
Step to the plate, in Me you can;
It will be tough, you will be stretched;
You’ll risk in Me your pretty neck.

Like Peter, all the past is gone;
In Jesus Christ we move along;
Lord, help us to let go in You
The past – take up this newer view.

Thanks Lord for this.
