"The Wall" [Module#443] (Matt.26:41 etc.)

They’ll be a wall, no doubt of that;
I’ve seen it, felt it – there I sat
One time upon this wall, and held
A key to access – they could meld –

Into this culture of esteem,
Based on the academic mean;
But it would cost me everything
That route held out to future bring.

I took the chance, put down my lunch,
Turned key in door, released a bunch
Of students into academe,
With key obtained by where I’d been.

The same was true for church renewal,
Which we had studied back in school,
But were not prepped to live in that,
So sabotaged it, laid it flat.

Now quest is done, the gasket passed
To those in charge to change at last;
I moved along, now Kingdom-layer’s
Emerged for us as base of prayer.

Look! Now the hump in road below
Is not a wall, Christ made it so –
For now we coast right o’er the wall
On Kingdom’s layer – a place for all –

To live and move and being have;
To act, react, apply Christ’s salve
To hurting world beneath, below;
Do this-and-that while no one knows –

How things were done to move things up;
How walls were breached when things were tough;
O Lord, for this Your Jubilee,
Great thanks for Kingdom-life in Thee.

Thanks Lord for this.
