They challenged Him, “Where are you from?”
Not interested, but thought that he had come
There on His own, so asked, “Authority?”
He said, “No way, first you must answer me –“Your views on John, my cousin, here before –
Where was he from? Speak up, I’ll say no more;”
They waffled truth, said “Really we don’t know”;
So He replied, “No further we can go”.Sometimes it’s best to be more circumspect –
There’s folks out there who follow scripted text
As they do life, not “Spirit-walking” style;
They make life tough for others all the while.“Don’t toss your pearls of wisdom to the swine
(In attitude, for people all are Mine,
But they needs change if they’re to come on board;
Their attitude needs input from the word).”Lord, as we end another Sabbath day,
I thank You for the words to us You say;
For those who wrote them down that we could see
Our attitudes reflected back in Thee.Thanks Lord for this.
