“Keewatin Revisited (Luke 19:39) [Module #283]

“Rebuke your disciples”, they told Him one day,
“It’s blasphemous words that they’re choosing to say;
If you do not silence them, we will enact
Suppressing measures, so contemplate that”.

He didn’t, they did – it’s an old song indeed –
Teachers who motivate, address some need,
Provide the food in the feeder each day,
Capture the hearts of the hungry who pay.

Maybe not pay them, but payment is made,
To the rebukers who try to hold sway;
Notice, however, the stones still cry out –
Fragrance and presence still linger about.

Message is two-way, one half comes from us;
Mind your own business” avoids lots of fuss;
People are voices of stars in our sky,
Speaking the hearts of the earth that ask, “why?”

Once we have seen it, we can’t silent be –
Once we have heard theme of “Jesus loves me”,
Once we have jumped up on Kingdom’s fine layer,
We become one of the big-picture players.

Thank You, O Lord, for Your forethought and life;
Thank You for lifting us up out of strife;
Thank You for acetate layer for us;
Thank You for pardon – for life it’s enough.

Thanks Lord for this.
