“Our Part” (Matt.21:21; Mark 11:23) [Module #289]

There is a part we play in this,
As we confront each blockage – wish
It was not there, would leave right now –
Shift “wish” to “active-willing’s” how.

For we’ve a part to play as well,
Beyond annoyed at living hell;
For we’ll be doing this and that,
In Christ, as He lays mountains flat.

He does the heavy work in life,
To lift the load, in darkest night,
But needs us to address some task,
So He can do the things we ask –

Like speak to mountains in our way,
Like Moses to that rock – “Just say,
‘Release your water for these folk’,
Don’t thrash around ’till stone is broke”.

But Moses lost his temper there,
So people heard frustrated care,
And not the faith, “God will provide –
He brought you here, not here to die”.

God gives us challenges each day,
Which stretch our faith and have us say
What’s best for all (forget the rest,
They’re someone else’s sheep at best).

“Have faith in God” were words You spoke,
Then in Your actions faith awoke
In me, through Andrew Murray’s book,
Next passage – said, “Take deeper look”–

As mountains, fig trees, fade away,
Your faith in us can rise – we say,
“Thanks Lord, for Your all-mighty love;
Release to Kingdom life above”.

Thanks Lord for this.
