“The High Cost Of Healing” (Matt. 20:29; )[Module #264] [Note – pretty central to discernment of spirits and photography mixed – described]
When we get healed by Jesus and move on,
Sometimes we find our occupation’s gone;
Like here – two blind men healed, received their sight;
Career as beggars went with dawning light.I hear this one, for that was true for me –
Third-culture-kid emerged so I could see
Just why I did not fit – one massive change;
All aspects of my life’s been rearranged.My job (as Pastor) swirled then down the drain;
I’d never fit that role as well again;
But what emerged (Apostle) took its place,
As larger mission-framework in my case.But even more – the twisted money-view
Which I’d been given as a child, and knew
So well, evaporated with that crowd;
I’m healed in Him, new life I’m now allowed.So with that healing, and vocation gone,
I’m freed in Christ to move in world along
His road between two ditches as I please,
And “having gone” disciple on my knees.Lord, photographing has appealed to me
Not as the world takes pictures, for I see
From viewpoint “here and now”, not “memory
Of loop-de-loop” – the layered-look’s for me.“What do you see?” You asked a different time;
“Vague shapes, like moving trees, is view that’s mine”;
Then even more You helped that man to see;
It’s in that story I hear part of me.“The camera’s mine, there Stu, just like your view
From on the Kingdom-layer built for you;
I gave dyslexic way for you to see,
So celebrate, and make some pix for me.“For you’re my eyes and ears with senses keen;
You hear beneath the words what actions mean;
So capture what you see from Kingdom’s view,
And integrate it in the tasks you do.”Lord, this surprises me, I had not thought
This life in You, Apostle, as my lot
Would be this way – but it makes sense somehow;
Help me unpack this task You now allow.Thanks Lord for this.
