"Lazarus -  Life In The Present Tense" [Module #245] (John 11:34)

For givers, “present” tense is fine,
So long as “gift” is meant – for time
Is long-term, not the present tense
(“Seed-planting now”, by that is meant).

Encourager? No – present’s now –
With inter-action done somehow
With God, or folks who interact
With me – hit ball, then hit it back.

So Andrew Murray’s insight new
Let me proceed, and give my view
To other active-passive types
Who say, “My way, if you’d be right”.

So retrospect helps me a lot –
See where I’ve been, how far I’ve got;
Like Christ in this wee story scrap –
“Take me to where you’ve been – you’re at.”

How far have you gone down the road?
How are you doing with your load?
How do you feel when I call out
To Lazarus – ‘Hey! Walk about’?

“Is your ‘Accepted truth’ okay?
In it can you go on your way?
Straight-line projection? Or does curve
Of geometric sweep unnerve –

“You as the curve hugs bottom line –
Slow lift – are you still doing fine?
Ask – does it double? Then again?
Not one, two, three – two-four-then bang!

“One step, today, but take it, Stu;
Feed faith with actions; change your view
From yesterday to hereabouts –
Reality will shift – no doubt.

“Now what of that new ‘Kingdom’ view –
The part of scene that’s new to you?”
Is that the top of loop I’d seen
In you – a place where you have been?”

I know I quite reluctant was
To sketch in G-d, and that’s because
That’s sacrilege – but I’d not seen
In Scripture text how it had been –

Foreshadowed in the Book (for me
I learn best in “reality”,
Then in the Book I check it out –
Confirm and tweak my “Giver” doubt).

Lord, I am here with Lazarus;
Got just this far – “Three days for us,”
I hear You say – okay, O Lord,
In this I’ll take You at Your Word.

Thanks Lord for this.
