“Lazarus – Death”

Strange thing, this “death” which we can see
Approaching on horizon – we
Know well it comes for each and all,
At best we can a bit forestall.

But in the end, we’re out of here;
To all intents, it would appear,
We’re done; we let the movie play
As we slip out, go on our way.

For some it comes as a surprise;
For others, lingers ’fore our eyes;
A mix for most as we prepare –
Downsize the remnants of our care.

And then, we’re gone – that’s it; we’re toast;
“It’s been a slice – liked such the most;
Asta-la-vista; see you guys;
I’m upward bound to Western skies.

Lord, in these days which now remain,
Bid me with courage to remain
Engaged in life – for it’s a blast –
Into the curtains – freed at last!

Thanks Lord for this.
