"The Kingdom Of God With Power" (Mark 9:1)
A lot of things were not clear then, but now
Are clear descriptions – “Kingdom come with power”
Is one of those – they wrote it off as “wrong” –
As if Christ was mistaken – “It belongs –“To end times, which mistakenly they thought
Was coming soon” – a load of tommyrot –
Mark nine, verse one, is what it’s all about –
Both parts – God’s kingdom come; with power no doubt.They pray, “Thy kingdom come” way down the road,
As they switch to end-times thinking mode;
Not “Kingship of Lord Jesus, here and now”
And “Life augmented with the Spirit’s power”.For years I heard Apostle Paul attest
He’d come “Not just with words, and did his best”,
But rather, “Words plus power” – I did not see
That aspect in my life – I was not free.As I look ’round I see it, also hear –
Great words; no power; lives all wrapped up in fear;
Lord, I just wish Your Spirit would flow free,
And let them feel Your Kingdom’s Jubilee.They fake it; imitate what others do;
Take on the trappings; fake a life in You
In which Your Spirit works with power here –
Nine-one they skip right over – it’s not clear.Thanks Lord for “layered-look, like Photoshop” –
A way to speak of Kingdom-life we’ve got;
Your Lordship of that “Kingdom-layer” here;
And power that flows to cultured life – now clear.Thanks Lord for this.
