“Lazarus – The Interim Life”

Interpretation of our lot in life
(God’s guiding hand for us in calm or strife
Has freedom built in from the very first),
Sometimes would be for others just the worst –

Thing we could do, for them it would not work;
Take Didymus – I sense nice kind of jerk –
If he had died as planned, with other guys,
Our time of Jubilee would pass – dilemma lies –

For all of us as we make future plans –
So often they on desks of others land;
How best to work things out as best for all?
Christ let him talk, knew he would take the fall.

“Your time will come”, he later added in,
“But now’s the time in life when you’ll begin
To hop the walls in which each culture’s bound,
And spread this Gospel message all around.”

“If all you fellows die with Me anon,
How will this mentor-project move along?
So hang with Me until the night arrives,
Then hit the hills ’till I come back alive.”

For Lazarus, Christ’s message was the same –
“Abide in me, for this your Savior came –
Pick out a way of doing life your way,
Then, ‘having gone’, good news of Kingdom say.”

Lord, thanks for showing how to live this way,
In Apostolic journeys own Your sway;
For some at home, for some, lands far away;
Thanks for the freedom of Your life today.

Thanks Lord for this.
