"The Chesterfield" (Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43) - Start Of Kingdom Of God 'Layers' Poems

An elephant’s on my Chesterfield –
Just sits, takes space, and will not yield;
Took time of course for it to grow;
Doubt through the doorway it will go.

I don’t know what to do with it –
In living room it will not fit;
Lord, help me know what I’m to do
To rid my life of it, in You.

“Stu, in this short-term, let it be;
Forget it, lots of work you see
That still needs doing – focus there;
Don’t pick at it, you know I care.

“I’m in this to; don’t pull the weeds,
For plant that grows now from the seeds
Is fragile still – do not uproot
That tender plant with growing shoot.

“Of course, in fact, that plant, in Me,
Can be re-born – again you’d see
Roots going down, plant springing up,
Fruit on the vine – I build for tough –

“But that is neither here nor there,
You did your task in Me – showed care
Beyond what by yourself could be
Accomplished – nice work – done in Me.”

Lord, thanks for this, relief of fears;
Please clear my head, see what appears
Before me as my tasks today,
And guide me through each step of way.

Thanks Lord for this.
