“Labels Or Reality?”

In terms of this new ministry
(It’s old, of course, but let that be),
It’s labels which get thrown around,
Like children in grandparent’s gowns –

“I like this one, so flowing-like –
A princess I, no more a tyke
With pedal-blocks still on my trike,
So legs quite short can speed with might.”

“Not me, I like this parasol,
Here in the attic – I feel tall –
Extends my reach up to the sky,
Not with leukemic bones, who dies.”

“I love our games of fantasy –
‘Play house! I will the father be;
You be the mom; you be the kid;
Let’s of reality be rid’.”

But on the loop we find ourselves
Stripped bare, and set by on the shelves
Of life, as others do their thing –
Then see we’re where the angels sing.

Not later, life on earth then done,
But now – our life in Christ begun;
We get in line, our numbers take –
“Step up, your turn – don’t hesitate.”

And then, assigned we are by Him –
“Set out, assignment now begin;
Go into Giver-land in Me;
I’m there – and Works of Power you’ll see.”

We leave, descending through the storm
Until we’re home; and we’ve been warned –
Our “sheep” will hear us, others not –
No one can snatch what we’ve now got –

Permission comes from folks around,
Who stumble darkly ’cross the ground;
Who long to see maturity
In Christ – some day on loop to be.

For on that loop things flip to rights;
Authority from Christ seems light,
Not heavy, as the world conceives
Their rulers with authority.

“I’ll do the heavy lifting, son;
Do ‘this and that’ for you’re the one;
Who’s in position, gives an ear
To Spirit’s guidance – shed your fear.

“First four, then twelve, then seven-two –
I trained them up, sent them to you;
Discipled – mentored – let weeds be
Lest weeding, you uproot the seed.

“It takes a while for folks to learn
To guided be, not guidance spurn;
So let results I give through you
Speak to their hearts, Apostle, Stu.

Thanks Lord for this.
