“Time To Ease ’Er Back A Bit”

Should not have fallen on the grass, made wet with recent rain;
I broke a lens (at least), besides – my right arm is in pain;
(Not much, just tells me, “You are just not eighteen anymore,
So take it easy, friend, and you’ll get on quite like before).

For easy does it in those dark, and cold, and stormy nights;
The scene for unexpected harm, no stars are lined up right;
Like older guy who drops his speed ten klicks in wintertime,
When driving on the ice and snow – leaves early, gets there fine.

“Defensive driving” is the way of life from here on in;
Today’s the day you ease on back, more cautious life begin;
Put all adventure in your work of writing tricky plots;
Just be more cautious where, and when, and how, you take your walks.

If you don’t want to hurt yourself, or others in your time;
Or wreck your goods and chattels, you’ll now have to tow the line;
A warning that – just hoe your row, don’t interactive be
With others on dark paths at night with far more energy.

Thanks Lord for this.
