“Home” [Module # 213] (Luke 13:35a)

The places you have been have shaped your being,
Your mind and spirit, feelings, body, soul;
That’s fine, but let it feed you and your living,
Not trap you, hold you back when you must go.

God gives us things which edify our being;
Within each context He’s provided food;
Sometimes we’ve chosen contexts, been mistaken;
Found every context has a part that’s good.

Some people view that as “The silver lining”,
Which comes along with clouds and stormy days;
Some ask, “What’s here that’s great about this context?”
And bid us celebrate God’s precious ways.

At times our past’s like home that’s now forsaken
Of all its smiling playful family;
Such situations call for resurrection
Right there, or far away – start on your knees.

For life is Spirit first, then outward being;
Not physical, by rising from the heart
Of God as He participates with laughter –
So Spirit’s joy is where we can re-start.

For me it’s church-renewal that’s the Zeitgeist
Which caught my heart and lightened up my mind;
That was the base for three exciting projects,
As God, through me, shows others He is kind.

Sometimes, like “chicks”, to Jesus we’ll not gather
Beneath the mother hen with feathers soft;
Sometimes we straight-arm love and warm affection,
And head into the storm at needless cost.

But some of us stay home and it gets broken,
The reason doesn’t matter – it’s now gone;
New life awaits us when we greet the dawning,
And view next battle over, victory won.

Thanks Lord for this.
