"Your People" [John - Core Series] (John 17:6-18)

Lord, people You were given to send away,
You trained, and coached, and lived with day by day;
You knew they would get chewed up in their task
Of sharing Father’s word as they’d been asked.

Not just as they had done when You were ’round,
But over culture’s walls which still surround
Us here on this oasis globally;
The task is still not done we clearly see.

You prayed for their protection in Your name,
Which I have come to see in “loop”, the same
Dynamic for us, in Apostle’s task,
As we traverse Your road with camera, staff –

That joy might be in life our better part,
While Satan’s kept at bay as we make art;
Protect us in the world, not on the beach –
For men were made to push out into deep.

Lord, sanctify us, set each one apart,
As You were set aside – as we depart
On missions, “Having gone” into the world,
For truth thus set aside – truth of Your word.

Thanks Lord for this.
