"Ignore Capabilities" [Fawcett #30] (1 Peter 5:8-9; James 4:1-3; Matthew Ch. 24 )

If capable of blowing up some thing,
An enemy should best be thought to bring
A level up from what is going on,
On this or any other worldly pond.

At Pearl they knew the Jap potential well;
Had warnings of potential raider’s hell,
But jealousy and disbelief were rife,
’Till well along in military strife.

We don’t see what is there, just what we know;
Quite lackadaisical is how we go
About our business – “War?”we ask, “What war?”,
Until they’ve crossed the threshold of our door.

When you bunch up, a tempting target that,
So best disperse; potential of attack
Is best prepared for well before the fight –
So minimize the loss by action right.

“Be on your guard, attacks are sure to come
So fast you’ll have no clue where they are from;
Defense is best performed from place of strength,
That you may persevere, survive at length.

Thanks Lord for this.
