"The Fig-tree In The Vineyard"  [Module #197] (Luke 12:6-9)

I had not seen before this date,
In land reserved for growing grapes,
A fig-tree grew – until one day
The boss said, “Barren – toss away!”

That’s me – I do not quite fit in –
Boss seems to like fruit more than grain;
Some figs, some grapes – if they produce,
They’ll get to grow here, put down roots.

I’ve had reproves ’round here before;
Keewatin-time I said, “No more –
I’m off to find the missing piece;
Prayed active willingness increase –

By actions of the Spirit, Lord,
Creator God, who’s guiding word
Might take me down the road I’d need;
Thus come to where I then could see –

What kept the church from growing up,
To be a base – support enough
The people who frequented there
In business-walk, without despair.

Some roller-coaster ride that was;
But in the end I saw the cause,
And moved to change my life around
To factor in the part I’d found.

It’s “Apostolic Ministry”
They’re missing, that’s the part I see;
So simple yet so beautiful –
Makes so much sense – now cup is full.

So thank You Lord, for Your great gift
Of insight, that we now might lift
This fallen log off this small part
Of Your great church – let it re-start.

Thanks Lord for this.
