"How Best Might We Prepare"  [Module #187] (Luke 12:47)

How best we might prepare, he says,
Is do the task – involvement pays,
For doing a task keeps boogie-man
From rising out of frying pan.

When we prepare before we act,
We let the ruler be the fact,
Not interaction with its life,
Like early days of husband-wife.

We both had people-training stuff;
It cluttered up our lives – “Enough!”
I said one day, “chuck out the books,
For now – let’s see how marriage looks.

We did – life works – advice, go ’way –
We loved each other; found a way;
Then later, when the home was set,
We listen to advice – and yet –

We did not let them run our home –
Their views helped lots – but heavy tome
Is not the basis of our lives;
It’s not some goal for which one strives.

If God intended us to use
A manual we could not lose,
I’m sure He’d put His Spirit here
To help the fog and mist to clear.

Oh! Right – He did! How nice of Him!
Then to our home He mentor brings –
Just when we need it – books and tapes
And people nice, which friendship makes.

Okay, O Lord, back to this text:
“Jump in, there, Stu, prepare for next
By doing feeding-task with ease;
And by such acts, the Father please.

Thanks Lord for this.
