"Three Things Thru Stu" [1st John series] (1st John 2:28-3:10; Psalm 138:80)

Three things You said that You would do through Stu –
The first was Native-ed – affirmed me too;
For autodidact – Spirit-led I am,
As I pursue some aspect best I can.

The second thing – renewal of the Kirk,
As it implodes, not just as place to work,
But as an institution for our growth –
A greenhouse and a worship-center both.

Third is re-integrating giver-gift
Into the body-life where now there’s rift –
Compassion-people have an allergy
To giver-gift – it’s mutual I see.

The first resolved as I pursued my quest;
As autodidact, stumbled on the rest –
That natives keep responsibility
For life and learning right where it should be –

Upon the shoulders of the learner – not
Upon the teacher – self is all they’ve got
When others come and throw them off their land,
And claim it as their own – don’t understand –

That there is a way to live within this land –
“Don’t fight it; work with it; and lend a hand –
Instead the newbies take us to the end,
With soul-destroying acts – and condescend –

“To rip our kids from home to educate
Their way – by which their fragile minds are raped –
‘We hold responsibility for life
And learning – sit and learn – for we are right’”.

The second part resolved as quest itself,
When I discovered TCK for self,
Then found it was a common aspect here
In Canada, where ‘culture’ is not clear –

For we’re a mishmash, each with culture base
We gained at home, as parts of human race;
We speak from there, as we adjust our world;
Our kids take that as base and join the whirl.

But cultures each have questions they can’t give
An answer to – so Gospel helps us live;
“Apostles” help to match those two somehow,
Which lets God’s power surge through us –Ka-pow!

Third aspect – integrating giver-gift
Into the body-life – instead of rifts,
Or hijack of our world economy –
Give antidote to gift-based allergy.

That’s where the role of Christ fits in today –
A “way” back to the Father – center place
Restored to God so life begins to work,
And allergies dissolve – where once were jerks –

Are now essential parts of body life,
We need if we’re to thrive, for dark is night
Within which we press on towards the end,
And to the heavens with the Christ ascend.

So – autodidact; apostolic gift;
And resolution of the body-rift –
Three things God said He’d do through life of Stu
As autodidact with a Creenglish view.

It’s as John says, “A Spirit-walker be –
If you with Christ each day will deeply see
Afresh the world around, God will fulfill
His purposes for you – He surely will”.
