"The Social Gospel" [Module #147] (Luke 11:10b)

Now there’s the understatement of the year –
“Seek and you shall find” is also clear –
But “He who seeks shall find” a statement is;
Conditional, of course, on seeking-biz.

It’s like when Chris Columbus headed west,
Astronomers with trig had vision best –
“Your India is farther than you think,
For globe is round – and huge – no easy link –

“To riches going ’round the other way;
I hope you take more food to sail that day;”
But what those calculators did not see,
Was ancient cultures living differently.

It’s like when kids grow up, discover sex –
You’d think they had invented it, and yet,
It’s been around forever and a day,
Imbued with mystery such pleasant ways.

So when they seek they find its blissful ways,
Like Chris and new-found-land’s discovered place –
Such new-two-you’s as thrilling as the first –
When finding truth or treasure, joy outbursts.

There’s nothing new, just new-to-us it seems,
And new to other folks (what “social” means);
So “He who seeks will find” of course, is true,
Especially if one plus one with you.

Thanks Lord for this.
