"This Road Ahead"

So how to do this road ahead,
Between right now and time I’m dead –
A time in which my mental stuff
Depletes away – while still enough?

Affect the curve – stay active; brain
Should be full-used with task and game;
Stay positive with those in view
Who walk this upward path with you.

Break longer tasks to smaller steps;
Use a morning hours while best is yet
Available – and educate
The folks around – participate.

Put structure and routine in place;
Cut chance of falls around, and face
The need to cut the clutter back;
And take the time to have a laugh.

Don’t “forward feel” to challenge next,
But celebrate whatever’s fixed,
Or problem solved – what turns you on,
Feel into it lest it be gone.

Right brain, intuitive it is;
Shift weight to it – for problem biz
While logic’s gone is now a boon –
With brakes released there’s artist’s room.

Read body language and their eyes;
Attention pay to verbal lies;
Respond to what you know’s the truth;
Chew slowly thoughts when there’s no tooth.

It’s all about a feeling time –
With music, pets, aromas fine;
Massage can help – paid contact then
Cuts negative, to live again.

As night-time falls, have your routine;
Enable sleep so you’ll be keen
To live if next tomorrow breaks,
And you’re here to participate.

First move to more supportive role;
Let others choose so there’s less toll
On world around as judgment flees;
Spend time with God upon your knees.

Distraction, re-direction helps;
While pictures there upon the shelf
Can aid in reminiscence time,
And validate despite your mind.

So ’till the time to pass comes by,
We shuffle off, pass with our sigh,
Remember it’s a long-term game –
Already dead – we’re born again.

Thanks Lord for this.
