“N’Kay – I Don’t Know”
The teachers in the teacherage up north,
A little dog maintained – sled-dogs the source,
Though long it was since dogs were used on sleighs;
Remaining dogs ran loose, the northern way.“N’Kay” the name they gave that little pooch;
With “I don’t know” no longer on the loose,
It was a teacher’s mascot – “What we do
Is help when ‘I don’t know’ is said by you”.“Don’t jump right to conclusion, quit the game;
Say, “I don’t know” – stay in, with us remain;
For “I don’t know” lets in a point of view
You’ve never heard, or info new to you.“It gives a chance to think along some more,
Rejects first answer, see what is in store;
No need to cocky be – how firm your grip
On life around – relax and think on it.“It’s not about the store of what you know,
But more what you can ask – that life might show
You more than you could ever conjure up –
’Till overflowing is your knowledge cup.“God gives fresh eyes open up and see
The world around – N’Kay is start for me;
Inside, right brain knows more than I’m aware –
N’Kay says move on out, take on that dare.“And ask, if you are stuck, then open eyes
And ears to what you hear – in stories lie
A treasure-trove of answers, clues to look
Around your world – life’s like an open book”.navigation
