"Emergence Of The Butterfly" [Module #129] (Luke 10:38-42)

There’s those of us who seem to think,
Christ’s rising was (with shielded wink),
More like a pretty butterfly,
For when one dies, that’s it, one dies.

That at its best it was like that –
Like all of us, though death is tough
On everyone, it’s just a crock
That dead can rise, and eat, and talk.

But here is where the butterfly
Did “meta-morph” – and death defied,
As Jesus with His new machine
Went south, to walk with mean and mean –

In heaven’s economic way
To live on earth – and power sway –
Help folks around you – indirect,
So Works of Power God can effect.

For dead to life were coming soon –
He walked from road to Martha’s room;
Said, “That is good, the work you do,
But Mary gets it – so should you.

“Get what? Gets what? – I heard your tale –
Samaritan – that’s how to sail –
Not like the quiet walkers-by
Who left that man on road to die –

“I work, prepare, take care of You;
Just look around, see what I do!
I only ask You, ‘Send her in,
That she can then some work begin. ’”

So there – two wings of butterfly –
With Mary-Martha aspects fly;
They both are needed in their place
As we our neighbors daily face.

For me, as I this threshold pass
From loop to road, I simply ask
That You help me to vision keep,
As daily folks rise from their sleep.

Lord, this, for You, was something new;
You hit the road with seven-two,
A pyramid which daily grew
From work You’d done with just a few.

Like leaven in a lump of dough,
It bubbled up – the way You showed
Us all – “Skip going after lots,
And concentrate on what you’ve got.

“Not ‘got’ as taken from some fold,
But ‘got’ as given – there be bold
Enough to walk the walk with them,
That they be butterflies again.

Thanks Lord for this.
