"Light"  (1st John 1:5-7)

While he talked on of dark and light,
I diagrammed (to get it right)
First John verse one to seven point,
When Spirit one word did anoint –

With life – a way to make it clear –
Reminded me what Paul said here
(As Nee addressed it – Romans eight) –
For “sin” we differentiate –

From sins (the plural), this a state
Of being far from God – don’t make
The error thinking that’s the same
As “sins” – “infractions” – different game.

For John, in saying “dark” and “light”,
A state of being has in sight,
Not actions flowing from that state;
Of that confusion, sense now makes.

For while estranged from God (as light),
In darkness deep as darkest night
We stumble ’round, and mess things up,
And fellowship we find quite tough.

Rebellion from the Lord our God,
Since Adam’s day here on this sod,
Has made the darkness home to all –
Our state of being since the fall.

So, come into the light, my friends;
Estrangement from our God then ends;
We write to make your joy complete;
Act now – don’t wait another week.

Thanks Lord for this.
