Base Camp

Day six it is as we push forth once more –
Now mount’s selected, roads converge before
Collective eyes – now set, my task is clear –
Base camp for all, resources then are near.

Lord, thanks for this clear note upon the horn,
Our bugle call each day at break of morn;
For Jubilee – Ka-boom! There goes the walls –
These prisoners freed as satan’s stronghold falls.

Our this and that’s we do each day in You
With laughter bright, this Everest in view;
The sweat of toil and aches at end of day,
Feel good to us – at last we’re on our way.

Lord keep us safe, for even base camp’s high;
A slip of footing here and one might die;
It matters not – for some will summit make,
Like Juno Beach – some will objective take.

Like Sun Tzu said – “Don’t fight until you’ve won”,
As in this case, in You the battle’s done;
It’s crossing time, ten thousand ships at sea –
We’re on our way – base camp, beachhead we see.

Thanks for all this
