"When Time Is Short"   [Module # 75] (Matthew 17:22-26; Mark 9:30-32; Luke 9:43-45)

“The time is short, so pressure’s on,
Here on this resurrection ground,
Which, in its way, relieves that fear
That comes when end of life draws near.”

So Christ was saying at this time,
And so am I – His words like mine –
Though for a giver-financier
There’s endless time – one can defer –

Decision, judgment, start, or end,
Forever (always one more bend
In road as we progress in life
Horizon rolls – time’s never tight).

But I’m encourager – my days
Quite finite are, and closure plays
A central role in doing life –
Days come and go – Sunset then night.

But now, of course, there’s double-days,
And the double-weeks – “Proportion” says
To me, “relax, it’s like before –
One double-week lies now before –

You ’till they go back home again;
Kick back, enjoy, life’s not the same
As when, before, on single days
And weeks, and months, you’d hardly raise –

Your hand to do some little thing,
Some project to the light to bring,
And it was gone – time flew away –
Now “double-time” gives time to play.

Lord, thanks for this disturbing thought,
Of time that’s left, of life we’ve got –
For now is when we live, today –
Tomorrow comes in its own way –

Thanks Lord for this.
