"Cut That Out"   [Module # 79] (Matt. 18:6-9; Mark 9:42-48; Luke 17:1-2)

There’s things to cut on giving end; receiving end as well –
Two hands, two feet, two eyes, two tools, will do no good in hell;
Not everything is good for all; to some, things are a trap
Which snares them in its sticky fronds – a pitcher-plant does that –

It looks so good to passing flies and insects on the wing;
They get entangled, then consumed, and help can no one bring;
So too with other pleasures, tools, capacities, and gifts,
Wrong mix, wrong time, wrong circumstance – wrong path some can’t resist.

So careful be as life you live, and in your work as well;
Some people very fragile are, and you can often tell
That what you have, or think, or do, is not an issue, but –
To them it would be dynamite, so don’t such assets strut.

At other times maturity is what they lack in life,
So build them up and strengthen them (it’s sometimes done through wife
Or husband – open access there as they are close at hand);
One way or other float their boat now beached upon the sand.

Of course, that goes for us as well – close doors and don’t go through
Where it might prove too much for us when on some scene we’re new;
Just throttle back, and seek God’s grace when we can’t walk some road;
He’ll take us around another way, and lighten up our load.

At times we have to push on through, by faith proceed through fear;
It’s then we’re stretched through walk of faith as things are just not clear;
A Spirit-walk is then our lot as we walk hand in hand
With Jesus through Gethsemane to resurrection land.

Thanks Lord for this.
