"Power's Inversion"   [Module #68] (Matt.16:24-28; Mark 8:34-9:1; Luke 9:23-27)

The power flows already, though it’s sung,
“Let power flow like rain – Thy kingdom come”,
The trouble is the trunk-line from the dam
Does not come out where place in life I am.

It comes out at the house’s other end,
But breaker-box is here, where lines descend
From all the fixtures in my house of cards –
O God, send power down – for life is hard”.

But when we turn the house around we find,
The trunk-line fits the breaker-box just fine;
God sent the power, the move that’s next is ours –
Turn house on its foundation for the power.

But we would rather fit in with the rest;
Reject You Christ, though life You give is best;
The culture-piece is critical to life –
It’s “life” we can release to gain in might.

To let go of the rest has low effect;
It’s when at deepest level we connect
With power which God supplies we have the piece –
We can gain even more with its release.

The principles of life are learned this way –
In smaller issues found in life each day,
We stumble on a principal quite small;
Writ large, we’re faced with letting go of all.

The daily cross is there for all of us;
Golgotha waits, in facing it we must
Make choices – life or death? To disconnect,
Or keep the power on, and death expect.

Thanks Lord for this.
