Second Out Of Three
There were three questions off the bat that day,
Which speaks to me of their concerns today,
About their lives, and needs they wish fulfilled,
For in their words an essence is distilled.For Scripture, prayer, and action are three ways
God speaks to us, and to each life portrays
Some thought, some pause, some guidance in the dark,
Some strength within, some goad for us to start.“Do you believe God through the Scripture speaks?”
“Does God in prayer with you his presence keep?”
“Is inner life shown in your daily life?”
“Might that be shared by God through you and wife?”“Where will you go? And when will you retire?”
“Where are you from? Do you think we should hire?”
“Where are you strong (besides in gift of gab) –
In inward care, or social life that’s sad?”“What is your view (with outside eyes you’ve come)?
What do you see? This first week give a sum.
Where is the hope for us as years go by?
Will life pour forth from here, or will we die?”And then a quip, it’s import not set down;
The vote was cast, thumbs up (a few were down);
But that’s all past, with seven times ’round the wall –
And ‘shibboleth’ quite well pronounced for all.navigation
