Resolution

What happened, friend, what happened – what happened in your past?
You seem afraid of sharing – though you’ve come here at last;
In Brandon, folks find healing – God brings folks here for that;
I hope by time of parting you’ll walk in peace at last.

Don’t leave without your healing – lots do, and that’s a shame;
With keen anticipation you to this center came;
Sometimes when God invites you to some advantage find,
He has another blessing than what you had in mind.

It’s strange, and looking backwards, we find that He’s indeed
Fulfilled our deepest longings, and satisfied our needs;
But not while here – more after we’ve gone our separate ways,
And we have found our calling fulfilled in later days.

We’re not surprised you’re hurting, or how you’ve coped so far;
Our gentle sides are fragile, they’re often sent afar,
To keep them safe like children protected from the blitz,
But war is done – it’s over – it’s time to damage fix.

We do not wish to rush you – get settled in your ways
Of work; participating in groups, or clubs, or plays;
Perhaps you’ll take up riding a horse or snowmobile,
But don’t forget God brought you to here – your heart to heal.

Engage with other people, don’t feel you have to fix
All other folks around you, or push them from their ditch;
We sense compassion flowing from God through you around
To others, but you’re hurting – a hurt that is profound.

That hurt is going to trip you, in fact it does today;
We hear it in your speaking, and what you’re shy to say;
But that’s not new, you sensed it, it’s why you came to ‘yes’ –
Agreeing to come join us, so God your lives could bless.

So – that, my friend’s my question – “What happened in your past?”
Perhaps with one-stop shopping you’ll get relief at last,
Or maybe not – but healing and details of your woe
Can find a resolution ’round here before you go.
