If I Just Think – I’m There (Romans 7:25)

If all I do is think – I’m there;
But if in action I compare
Results of thought, wrought in my mind,
With those I’ve lived – I would be blind –

To see no difference – contrast stark
Twixt these results – as light to dark
In photographing – contrast high –
“My mind’s ahead – that is no lie”.

Lord as I shift from mind to act,
Help me to render thought to fact,
So Your results in business life
Shine through the dark as shafts of light.

Well I recall that pictured day,
With kids and lights – their quiet way
Of doing life – film captured it,
In dark their innocence was lit.

Lord, I would love to share with folk
A way of life – not to revoke
The thoughts enlightened by your light,
But integrated in their life.

Why is it at our church the mind
Is locus, where we weakly find
Relationship with You, O Lord,
Enriched with servings of Your word –

And yet we find our lived-out acts
Are far behind – performance lacks
Attention, which we all could use,
Lest words we think be words we lose?
