The Parts God Made For Movement

A West-Wing line quite takes the cake for me –
A victim of a flood God’s help did seek;
A Jesuit in boat called, “Want a ride?”
The man said, “No, God’s got it, I’ll abide.”

Sometimes we answer prayers we know not of;
Sometimes we just respond to push or shove,
With strange responses God puts in our mind,
Which look to other folks like being kind.

We all are bent and twisted at the core,
And still God loves us all, and yet there’s more –
For God’s assessed the problem long ago –
“Celestial mean and mean some day they’d know”.

His ways and wisdom far exceeds it all,
Despite our big mistake back at the fall;
They think they’re smart, and clever yes they be,
But God has ways and means which far exceed –

Their silly ways, He says, “Hey come on back,
My love for all fulfills the parts you lack;
Life works, come take My yoke, My burden’s light;
I’ll strengthen, feed, and guide your doing right.

“I don’t intend for all just mean or mean;
Nor did I think you would not on Me lean;
A car and gas quite inter-active are,
Without each other neither gets too far.

A car quite complex is, there’s lots of parts;
Like bodies, social groups, you’ll find it starts,
But cannot move without some wheels and things;
All people put together – movement brings.
