Wish-List Level Four

“So this is ‘level four’, I say,
“Stay interactive every day;
‘Let Go – Take hold’– both shunned as style,
While walking out diagonal.”

Some ways I’ve done this all my days;
Some ways I’ve not, for it now pays
Rich dividends to stay in You
O Lord, as I old ways eschew.

NACADA – focus years ago –
I went so current scene I know;
At start have journey – cancer land –
I came to quickly understand –

That on advising front, no change,
Though Internet had rearranged
Big schools in their advising load;
Apart from that, the same old road.

O’Banion’s work held up of course –
With shift to “Who I am” resource,
Big U’s could build that in as base,
Help students build on solid place.

The White Bear work, from BU part
(This month it’s twenty years since start) –
Is solid still, it works just fine;
Now “Wish-List – level four”, is mine.

So many things I’ve learned these years,
Through bouts of trial, struggle, tears;
Like, in the end we walk the line;
And, in the end old ways resign.

Not “must”, but “may” is what I mean;
On arm of God we now can lean;
Not pick things up in desperate ploy;
Not just let go – His plans deploy.

There is no guaranteed success;
Construction sites are still a mess;
But something’s different this time round,
In heavenlies – yet on the ground.

Lord, as I walk this road today,
I pray You grace me on my way;
My hand in Yours – his hand in mine –
Sustain us all throughout this time.

For me, I pray that folks will see
Your presence in their view of me,
And in that fragrant scent that’s new
Be drawn into a life in You.

My motivation? Still my zeal
To see Your kingdom come as real?
Why yes, but now a different way –
From heavenlies assigned this day.

Your patience and Your timing, Lord,
I do appreciate – Your word
To stay the course, stand by and see
What needs be done for him through me.

To work, not doing things my way;
To walk, and listen close each day;
For You a go-between to be,
That Your success we now might see.

And now it comes to me – a seed
I am, of grain (and not a weed),
You’ve planted in this patch of earth –
Your way of giving second birth.

It matters not what others think;
Nor if our projects float or sink;
What matters most – in others eyes
His kingdom's here beneath the skies.

Lord, keep me faithful in my walk
In You; don’t let it be just talk,
But stay the course with You in view,
In interactive walk with You.

Thanks.
