Works Of Power
"What happens in the marketplace when you go walking by?
What happens as you interact resulting in a sigh?
A sigh – not one of disappointment – one of deep content;
A sigh which says, 'My soul is filled to maximum extent'.”When I walk by things open up; life starts to move once more;
A way's made clear of obstacles; a lock falls off the door;
Impossible's no longer heard describing what is now;
Frustration drops as people watch and comprehend the ‘how’.It is not me – quite often I'm the last to know such things,
But people comment on events, and praise to God it brings;
For they agree it was not me, "How could it be?" they say,
"For he was focused somewhere else at work, or home, or play".But often I have noticed that before I came along,
There was a blockage of some sort, or things had all gone wrong;
And when I left there was a way for folks to carry on,
And praises rose to Spirit-force in Psalms and spirit-song.Sometimes the role is catalyst – sometimes he says, "Hey Stu,
Do this or that and give me room through actions which you do";
I never know just what He'll do; try not to interfere;
Then get my popcorn out and watch Him act – some way made clear.There's lots of folks like me I guess who wander through the streets;
As “Jubilee”, sets people free, and Works of Power greets
A need quite often unbeknownst to me or other folks,
Until the ‘boom!’ goes off again, and sadness turns to jokes.I found that out by noting things which I had jotted down,
I'd grouped them up to see what God is up to when I'm ’round;
It scared me half to death when I saw clearly what He did,
It took a while to ‘Covet' that for which I had not bid.So yes, jot down those crazy things which happen in your wake,
And you may come to know what God enables for His sake;
Then ask for that, don't fight it off, at least don't interfere,
And you will find your life quite blessed – perhaps a way made clear.navigation
