The Change In Me
When consecration's taken place within one's heart,
Perspective of one's life around is changed, I mark;
I'm getting nerve within, my life to carry on;
And focus to my thought returns – confusion gone.'Tis strange, for courage rises up from deep within;
It fills the gaps in thought and life where naught has been;
It rises slow and steady like a cup that's filled;
And fuzzy actions fall away like soldiers killed.The front is moving forward, that's the change in me;
Commitment made, consent is given, up from my knees;
To live or die a question faced and set aside;
“Get in, sit down, hang on, shut up” – time for a ride.No more this talk of death as though it's got me beat;
My focus shifts to living life – up on my feet;
I leave behind poetic journey's ‘Cancer-land’
And enter into life ahead, where now I stand.I had not seen that leaving illness is a loss,
That staying there in heart, and mind, would have a cost;
“I'm healed”, that man of God said, in his mess,
“For Christ within has changed it all, now I am blessed”.Though ‘wacky-doodle’ is his stance within his life
He had a point – we harbour thoughts picked up in strife.
They need to go if we are now to carry on;
So – get a life, get off your knees, and change your song.Don't play the fool, some changes make to style of life;
Come under load, jump in the pool, the water’s nice;
For life ahead is better than what's gone before;
It's not the end, a future waits, through opened door.You've got a call, or ‘sending’ more, those words fulfill;
It won't be death by sickness, age, but getting killed;
“Come on, get up, let's go, the time is passing fast –
We've got a lot to do in life before it's passed.navigation
