The Sculptress
The sculptress said the lips begin
At base of nose, down to the chin
And only we the margins see,
Where lipstick goes, and pleasures be.“The most expressive part of face”
She said, “for all the human race –
Is mouth, because it moves the most
And stretches round for talk and toast”But we can also learn from it,
Become aware – degree of fit
We bring to daily circumstance –
As sign of stress, or joy in dance.I find that with a focused shot
My camera sometimes helps a lot:
A sombre face that is not real,
Repeated shots – and grin will steal –Across those lips, (absurd it is
To take repeated shots) – “Gee whiz,
Whatever can you mean by this
Attending me?” – “I bring on bliss.”navigation
