‘Slow down, you're over-heated, lad’,
He seemed to say to me;
‘Encourager’ has borne the freight
Till you could balanced be.

Not balanced having all the gifts,
As some, in error, say;
But balanced with your second gift
Pushed down, but not away –

Your given gift was quite disliked
Within your family group,
But that's because a problem there
Had been in family root.

Grandfather’s dad had died and left
A wife and little lad
In the slums to make their way in life,
So twisted veiw he had.

So often kids pass on such fluff,
Their kids distort it more,
Three generations down the line
It's something all deplore.

But you've been rescued from that road
And put on solid ground;
It took a while, you persevered,
Now better way’s been found.

At least you're freed from silliness
That sweeps society,
Because you had to start from scratch –
As adult came to see –

That capitalist and socialist
We're both in ditches stuck,
Each shooting ’cross a road that ran
Between each other’s muck.

A great critique each other gave
Of problems that were seen,
While strengths of each position showed
What part of truth there'd been.

But no one taught to walk that road
Between two warring groups;
That maybe My economy
Would pull them from their soup.

It's nice to be a TCK
Not locked in current thought;
It frees me up to look around
And check out ways we ought –

To look more closely and to see
If there's another way
To look at economic life
And try it out today.
