Gone Is The Candle
Gone is the candle of the night
And with it actions wrong and right;
When lit up bright at Shabbat start
We welcomed, prayed, with song and art.But now the final work this week
Has dwindled down and rest we seek;
For ‘stopping’ you created last
That we could rest, let go of the past.Six days you took then gave to us
For work and play, then bid us hush;
Day seven not ours, but yours for praise
And re-connecting with your ways.Lord as we enter now your word,
Through neighbour, music, let to be heard
Some gift of life, some planted seed,
As this Your Torah now we read.navigation
