Park Towers

When I was just a little tyke,
I asked if I could view the sight
From up upon apartment towers;
They said I could – I stayed for hours.

For down below I saw our place,
Or part, at least, in any case,
For trees obscured the summer view;
Thought “Winter pix” is what I’ll do.

So I came back, no leaves in fall;
And from that height I saw at all –
The shape of our community,
And saw it as a unity.

I saw the churches, schools, and stores,
I saw the buses, planes, and more –
I saw some people – trucks and cars
As God must view us, as we are.

As I recall that view today,
I felt at home as TCK –
Above the Earth and looking down;
My place in life is what I’ve found.

For Echoland, between the clans,
Gives us a view of others’ lands,
Like up atop apartment blocks,
No fence screens out adjacent lots.

But even more I find today,
Our life in Christ provides a way
For us to have a better view –
With Christ from heaven – a life renewed.

For we’ve been raised from death with Him;
Our life in Christ we now begin,
Not viewing life by looking ’round,
But from His view – here, looking down.

For now perspective has been changed;
Our former view’s now re-arranged;
Sometime ahead He will assign
Some little task He has in mind –

But here, for now, He says, “Take time
To look around, see views that’s Mine;
For when you’re back there with your task,
You’ll have this view, for it will last.

“And that will all the difference make,
As you in life participate;
No matter what in life if you do,
Your view of life has been renewed.
