John Tyrchniewicz (U of M bio , other bio ) wrote a paper [pdf format]Sustainable Development for the Great Plains, Policy Analysis on sustainable prairie agriculture, and is on secondment from the U of Alberta to the Winnipeg-based International Institute for Sustainable Development so the principles he refers to on page 13 of "Common Ground", used to identify key issues, were already familiar to him prior to the report.
